David Beckham eats bugs in Mexico as he says it's 'so good to be back'

David Beckham has returned to Mexico for a getaway and has been getting involved with the local delicacies.

The former Manchester United and England footballer, 47, took to Instagram to tell his 77.3million he was back in the country.

Positing a snap of himself smiling as he hangs out of his balcony overlooking a busy street, who wrote: "So good to be back in Mexico WOW I love this city."

And if his comments section is anything to go by, he was sure to have received a warm welcome from the locals.

After tagging the Mexican Adidas Instagram page in his post, the company replied: "Hola David! Welcome back!"

Mexican singer and actress Thalia also gave him a local welcome, saying: "Esoooo," which translates to "come on", followed by a string of clapping hands emojis.

And another of his followers joked: "Do you want to come play for the best team in Mexico City, Morenos FC on loan this season?"

Taking to his Instagram Stories he shared a chef making him some local delights, captioning the food post: "Fresh," alongside a love heart made up from the Mexican flag.

He then showed off the food options on show in his next few slides, including a bowl of bugs along with rice pudding and guacamole.

It comes shortly after he'd showcased his current football team's newest kit - with the help of his family as the models.

He is president and co-founder of Inter Miami stateside and revealed his clan are loving the new "La Noche jersey".

In the first image, Harper is seen taking a selfie in the stylish pink and black number which is made by Adidas.

The next image showed Cruz getting in on the kit love-in, before David himself took to modelling the outfit along with a matching Inter Miami pink hat.

Romeo, who plays for the side but is currently on loan with Brentford, popped up in the comments section to show his appreciation, sending emoji faces with love heart eyes.

Alexandre Pato, who snubbed the side last year for Orlando City also responded, as did NFL star Tom Brady.

David Einhorn focused more on the family than the team, writing: "Cutest family ever."
