Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has revealed that he has become the father to a “new baby daughter” born outside of his 21-year marriage.
The 55-year-old singer took to social media to announce the birth of his daughter, in which he vowed to love and support the child while working to regain the trust of his wife Jordyn Blum.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.
“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved as we move forward together.”
Grohl did not reveal any information about the mother of the child in his post.
The singer shares three other children — Violet Maye, Harper Willow, Ophelia Saint — with his wife Blum, who stays largely out of the spotlight.
Blum and the pair’s children made a rare public appearance as a family last year when they attended the Grammys in Los Angeles.
While his family likes to keep out of the public eye, Grohl has previously spoken candidly about how his wife and children keep him grounded and have changed his perspective on life.
“I wouldn’t be able to do this if I didn’t have my feet planted firmly on the ground,” he told The Guardian in 2007.
“So Jordyn and Violet are anchors that keep me from completely disappearing.”
Grohl has also revealed previously that Blum has served as the inspiration behind many of his songs, including the Foo Fighters’ “Burn Away”.
“I was in love with my future wife and had some romantic fucking prom ballad,” he told A.V. Club of the song back in 2006.
The couple were last spotted together at Wimbledon in London in June, where they smiled together while watching a women’s singles match.
Naturally, the internet feels absolutely betrayed by the news.
