Dave Cormack claimed Aberdeen were fired up to beat Hearts to third place by an interview from Gorgie chief Andrew McKinlay as he trolled the Jambos man by saying "top of the season ticket league though".
Cormack took to social media as it was confirmed the Dons will be playing European group stage football next season along with the £5 million bounty thanks to Celtic's Scottish Cup final win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Shortly after full time at Hampden, Cormack took to social media to say: "We get on great w/Hearts & Andrew who did great in 21/22 while we were in transition. 10 out of 11 seasons ahead of Hearts now. Famous Aberdeen the only Scottish club to win two UEFA trophies. Hearts win the season ticket league though This interview inspired us. Stand Free!"
The interview he posted was one given McKinlay earlier this season when he said "We welcome the chase from those behind us. We have the third highest income so you would expect us to have the third highest budget." McKinlay went on to compare the two clubs, highlighting Aberdeen's issue with building a new stadium.
