With the future of Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay uncertain, former teammate Davante Adams publicly announced that he wouldn’t mind seeing Rodgers reunite with him in Las Vegas.
Adams was traded from the Packers to the Raiders last offseason after Green Bay and Adams were unable to come to terms on a contract extension. Now, with the Packers seemingly ready to move on from Rodgers, could he join his former top target in Las Vegas?
Adams made it clear Sunday that’s what he wants—and he’s told Rodgers as much.
“Duh,” Adams said with a smile when asked during the Pro Bowl Games if he had been recruiting Rodgers. “Why would anybody not do that? I mean 100%. That’s my guy, obviously. Wishful thinking but we’ll see what happens.”
When asked what his top recruiting pitch was, Adams said “I’m here. I think that’s a good one.”
The Raiders will be in the market for a quarterback this offseason with Derek Carr set to move on from the franchise. Carr was benched late in the year and it’s a foregone conclusion that he’ll be suiting up for another team next season.
As a result, there’s going to be potential for Rodgers to end up with the Raiders if he decides to keep playing. But Las Vegas will be far from the only team vying for his services if he does not end up back with the only franchise he’s ever known in Green Bay.
