The Jacksonville Jaguars have an official date and time set for their preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons. That game will take place on Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. EST at Mercedes Benz Stadium.
The Jags’ full schedule was revealed last week, but their matchup with the Falcons had a date and time that had yet to be determined. Part of the reason behind that may have been because of the Monday night game on the Falcons’ schedule against the New York Jets, which will take place just before they play Jacksonville.
The teams also have agreed on two dates to have joint practices at the Falcons’ facility in Flowery Branch, Ga. The dates for those two sessions will be on Aug. 24-25, which is the Wednesday and Thursday before the two team’s preseason matchup. The time has yet to be determined, though.
Last week, Doug Pederson said that he and Falcons coach Arthur Smith was working on the details for the joint practices, and now, just about everything has been ironed out. Pederson also said he thought joint practices would benefit the Jags and help them prepare for the regular season, which starts with a road trip to the Washington Commanders.
“I think they are really valuable to get some really good work in, especially with your starters and guys who you think are going to be starting on opening day,” Pederson said. “You’re going against another team at that point in training camp and it allows our team to get out of here for a few days and practice against a team that’s well-coached and is a disciplined football team. It will be good for our guys to get some work in.”
