Virgil van Dijk has urged Darwin Nunez not to worry about his transfer fee and instead follow the example of Liverpool team-mate Roberto Firmino - as he warned Premier League defences to expect a "horrible" Erling Haaland.
After attracting criticism in some quarters during pre-season, Nunez made an impressive start to his competitive Reds career when coming off the bench to win a penalty and later score in the 3-1 Community Shield triumph over Manchester City on Saturday.
The 23-year-old was signed from Benfica for an initial £64million which could eventually rise to £85m - eclipsing the club record fee spent to take Van Dijk from Southampton in January 2018.
