What happened just before first Darwin Nunez goal speaks volumes about Liverpool squad
The long wait is over for Darwin Nunez.
Well, that’s if you regard a whopping 63 minutes of action as an almost interminable time to tick by before scoring a first Liverpool goal.
That, though, was the strange narrative being pursued by some after the summer signing from Benfica had a steady if unspectacular start to life at his new club.

Jurgen Klopp shares Mohamed Salah contract theory after Darwin Nunez goals
Jurgen Klopp believes Darwin Nunez's four-goal haul in the 5-0 win over RB Leipzig was the ideal way to dismiss his early Liverpool critics.
And the Reds boss hailed a "perfect night" for the new striker as his performance helped the side to a comfortable pre-season victory over the Germans in Saxony.
Nunez replaced Roberto Firmino at the break with the Reds leading 1-0 through Mohamed Salah's early effort and quickly doubled the advantage from the penalty spot.
The £64m summer signing from Benfica then added another three to his tally as Liverpool hammered the Bundesliga outfit in the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig.
