Darwin Nunez silences doubters as Liverpool connection leads to Uruguay goal

Darwin Nunez has handed Liverpool a timely boost with a goal for Uruguay in their international friendly match against Canada.

The Liverpool striker has struggled for confidence of late after a tough start to life in the Premier League, but this goal for Uruguay will give Nunez a boost heading into Saturday's match with Brighton.

Nunez scored for Liverpool when coming off the bench at Fulham on his Premier League debut, but was sent off in the next game and missed the next three matches.

Liverpool told of hidden factor that will come with buying Jude Bellingham

Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James has explained why his old club would be securing themselves an 'exceptional' talent if they were to sign Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham has long been the subject of speculation surrounding his future at Borussia Dortmund with Liverpool among his potential suitors. Manchester City have also been linked with a move for the midfielder, and their boss, Pep Guardiola, was full of praise for Bellingham after he scored in Dortmund’s 2-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium a couple of weeks ago. And speaking ahead of that game, the player himself insisted he remains happy at Dortmund and played down the potential of a Premier League transfer.

Bellingham said: "First of all, I'm here to help Borussia Dortmund win the game. If I can play well and showcase my talents, it is a bonus.

“But I'm here to win for Borussia Dortmund and I'm very happy here at the minute and I'm focused on all of the goals we have as a team and I'm not looking past that."
