The Los Angeles Lakers have struggled all season to get substantially above .500. At one point, they were 14-9, but since then, they have lost seven of their last 20 games.
They’re now past the midway point of their season, and with mostly home games this month and their roster at nearly full strength health-wise, the frustration is growing for them and their fans.
Their latest setback came on Friday evening when they blew a 12-point first-half lead and completely collapsed in the second half against the Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn outscored them 68-44 after halftime and ended up with a 130-112 rout.
For the last several weeks, various members of the Lakers have brought up the many minor injuries they have had to deal with. But after Friday’s loss, head coach Darvin Ham said there are no more excuses to be made.

Los Angeles will have a chance to rectify things a bit when it hosts the 12-29 Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
