New face on the PDC Tour Scott Williams has threatened to wear a gimp outfit for one of the biggest matches of his career after being criticised for his colourful clothing.
The 32-year-old, nicknamed 'Shaggy' is competing at the Grand Slam of Darts for the first time and has lost his opening two matches. Williams needs to beat Ryan Searle in his final group match tonight and hope that Luke Humphries beats Josh Rock in the other game to qualify into the last 16.
Williams secured his Grand Slam place by winning the Challenge Tour Order of Merit which also gives him a full PDC Tour card from next year for the first time in his career.
In his maiden Grand Slam event Williams has kept the crowd entertained and, after losing to Williams, jokingly gave his opponent a double middle finger salute in jest. After receiving some criticism for wearing yellow shoes the Boston-based star has threatened to instead wear a gimp suit for his final match.
Williams took to Twitter to voice his idea, he said: "As its clear from reading social media the last couple of days, that the reason I'm losing is because of my attire. So with that said, I have decided to test the theory and wear this Gimp Suit for my final game vs Ryan tomorrow. See if it improves my game or not."

Williams won the Players Championship 17 in Germany earlier this year - the first non-PDC Tour card holder since 2018 to win a ranking title. His impressive results have also secured him a spot at this year's World Championship at the Alexandra Palace.
Shaggy has shown his light hearted side at the Wolverhampton Grand Slam event and after facing some criticism for his double middle finger salutes towards sixth seed Humphries, he tweeted: "Sorry to @lukeh180 about last night....thought you were gonna turn round and I was going to Stone Cold Stunner you,” alongside a clip of WWE star Steve Austin performing the signature move.
Humphries replied and referencing the signature wrestling move of Austin's rival The Rock. He added: "That’s alright, I would off countered that and rock bottomed you through the stage."
