Sheffield Wednesday manager Darren Moore claims he is unsure whether talisman Barry Bannan will be fit to face Sunderland tonight. The Owls captain limped off at the end of their 4-1 win against Portsmouth last weekend and there are fears he could miss tonight’s crucial play-off clash.
Last week, Bannan was a double award winner after being named in the League One Team of the Season and claiming the prize for best goal in 2021-22. The former Aston Villa midfielder has been influential in Wednesday’s success this campaign - bagging nine goals and creating 12 assists to secure fourth spot.
A huge clash at the Stadium of Light awaits and the Black Cats will receive a huge boost before kick-off if Bannan’s name is not on the teamsheet. Moore, however, is staying coy on the issue and insists no decision has been made.
