Daredevil star Charlie Cox says that Born Again season 3 feels like a "new dawn" for the show as it "sheds the skin of the Mayor Fisk era"

Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Daredevil: Born Again season 2.

Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox says that season 3 feels "different" to the previous two installments of the Marvel show.

"I haven't read the whole thing," Cox, who plays the blind lawyer Matt Murdock and his vigilante alter-ego Daredevil, told Entertainment Weekly. "But, no, it feels like we've shed the skin of the Mayor Fisk era. It feels like it's a new book, a new dawn a little bit."

"It's still a continuation, obviously, but it's slightly different," the actor added. "I can't give anything away, but it's a new thing, which is fun."

As to just how that skin may be shed, that remains to be seen – there are still six weeks to go until the season 2 finale. Though Wilson Fisk actor Vincent D'Onofrio has dropped some cryptic hints about what to expect from Kingpin in season 3.

"I guess I kind of knew, inevitably, that it would end the way it does in the second season. But I didn't imagine how, particularly," he said. "It's very different to see what happens to him at the end of the second season. It's a very different feel. We pick up from what [those] events have done to him in the third season. You get to meet him and what he's become after that."

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Before we get to season 3, we still have the rest of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 to enjoy, which sees tensions between Daredevil and Mayor Kingpin come to a head as Fisk cracks down on New York's vigilantes in a major way.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is releasing weekly on Disney Plus. Make sure you never miss an episode with our Daredevil: Born Again season 2 release schedule, or check out our verdict in our Daredevil: Born Again season 2 review.
