Daredevil: Born Again season 2 showrunner Dario Scardapane and executive producer Sana Amanat talk Bullseye's big moment(s) in the new season.
"I'm not right. I don't look at the villains as villains. And I don't look at the heroes as heroes," Scardapane tells GamesRadar+. "And one of the things I think that Eric Olson and the staff of season three [of the Netflix show] did brilliantly was the Bullseye character... the Poindexter story. You know, there's a lot of pain and a lot of ouch to that guy. And he gets an opportunity in this season to be a hero, at least in his own mind, and we started playing with that."
Without giving too much away, Bullseye doesn't have any plans to disappear anytime soon. In fact, Matt Murdock and Daredevil being missing/wanted men in New York City has kind of fueled his fire even more. Season 3 of the Netflix show also gave us that adamantium surgery scene in the finale... so he and Wolverine really aren't far off in the whole 'can't-be-killed' genre of hero...
"He's one of my favorite characters in the show. He's very unexpected. Wilson Bethel is such a surprise. I mean, he's such a joy to be around as a person, but his performances are such a surprise, and I think he gave us something in the previous season three that we were excited about expanding on. I don't think anyone wants him to be forgiven necessarily for Foggy, but at the same time, we realize there's more to that character. It's not just a villain killing someone."
Scardapane goes on to call one of Bullseye's big Born Again season 2 moments "one of my favorite sequences that I've ever been involved with in 30 years of doing this" and I am dying for you all to see it. The only thing I can really tell you is that we see it in the first Daredevil: Born Again season 2 trailer (and it involves the phrase 'fork found in kitchen').
