Darden Restaurants Stock: Is DRI Outperforming the Consumer Discretionary Sector?

Darden Restaurants, Inc. (DRI), headquartered in Orlando, Florida, is one of the largest full-service restaurant operators in the United States. The company owns and operates a portfolio of well-known restaurant brands, including Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, The Capital Grille, Yard House, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Seasons 52, and Eddie V’s. DRI has a market cap of around $24 billion.

Companies valued at $10 billion or more are generally classified as “large-cap” stocks, and Darden Restaurants fits this criterion as the company continues to benefit from a diversified portfolio of established restaurant brands and solid same-restaurant sales growth.
