Danniella Westbrook has teased a new memoir in the wake of her EastEnders snub.
On Sunday, the actress, 48, hit out at the news the BBC soap had opted to hire Kim Medcalf to reprise the role of Sam Mitchell.
Although Danniella was the last to play the daughter of Peggy Mitchell back in 2016, Kim, 48, will be retuning to Albert Square to for the character's future scenes.
After threatening the BBC with legal action as the news broke, Danniella also seemingly hinted her new autobiography may reveal some secrets about the long-running soap.
"Bet you all can’t wait for my new book now can ya ….. oh it’s gonna go way back to the things I’ve never ever told #beafraidpeople #itsallgood," the star tweeted to her 228,500 followers on Sunday.
After winning the role of Sam Mitchell in EastEnders at 16, Danniella became a regular on the London club scene which saw her fall victim to using cocaine regularly.
Over the years, the former Celebrity Big Brother star has battled with addiction - most recently admitting to a relapse in September 2021.
Speaking in the past, Danniella has suggested that EastEnders could do more to warn young stars about the perils of drugs.
"I was always in clubs and everyone was doing coke and it was glamorous – except obviously, it wasn't at all," the mum-of-two explained when recalling her early experiences with narcotics.
"I was just very young, very stupid and very easily led...I think there should be someone at EastEnders to say to young people when they come in, 'Look, your life is about to change, you're going to be invited places, and you'll be offered drugs.' "
In the depths of her addictions in the 1990s, the one-time soap star spent an estimated £250,000 on cocaine, which cause her septum - the fragile cartilage that separates the nostrils - to collapse.
Danniella's off-screen struggles saw her replaced on EastEnders by Kim - who played Sam Mitchell on the long-running soap between 2002 and 2005.
Despite being recast, Danniella eventually returned to Albert Square for short stints in 2009 and 2016.
However, according to The Sun, Kim will be the actress to reprise the role later this year.
"Sam’s return has been on the cards for some time. They felt she was a natural fit for this version of Sam. It’s nothing against Danniella, she created an icon as the character," a source told the publication.
"But as often happens in soaps, the bosses wanted to recast and take Sam in a different direction. Kim is due to begin filming in two weeks and everyone is very excited."
Danniella didn't take the news particularly well - telling the BBC soap her legal team would be in touch.
The snubbed star tweeted: "Wishing kym the best of luck at @BBCEastenders__yet again this poor woman has to recreate a Samantha Mitchell as close to my last two recent come backs on the square go smash it darling..x
"oh but not to @bbceastenders my legal team will be in touch to know why when I held the contract too the last two times the character bounced in &out on a ratings or stint."
She continued to tell her followers that she "was never sacked or dismissed" and saw out both her last two contracts with the soap.
Over on Instagram, the star shared a screenshot of one of her earlier tweets regarding the news.
In the post shared to Danniella's Instagram Stories, the tweet read: "Well well well who knew [face-with-tears emoji] all I can say is thanks looks like I dodged a bullet."
