Australia's Dyson Daniels has surged past his idol Gary "The Glove" Payton and is eyeing off Michael Jordan on the all-time list for most consecutive NBA games with at least one steal.
Daniels had five points, eight assists and six rebounds on Thursday (AEDT) as the Atlanta Hawks powered to a dominant 133-100 win over Sacramento.
But it was the 22-year-old's record-setting defensive efforts - which led to him being dubbed the "Great Barrier Thief" last season - that again turned heads.
