Danielle Scott vows to keep pushing the envelope following spectacular victory at Deer Valley

If you liked the look of Danielle Scott's spectacular victory at Deer Valley then you're in luck because there's plenty more where that came from.

The Australian aerial skier retained the leader's yellow jersey with her second victory of the Freestyle World Cup season after nailing her first triple twisting backflip to storm home.

"I really set myself out on a mission to get triples going and I ended up doing one of the biggest jumps I've ever done," Scott told ABC Sport.

"It's been exciting. I had a bit of a slow start to the season with my ski bag being lost so I've had different skis every week and we were hoping to do triples a bit sooner and it was just a bit of a shamble.

"To finally get up there and complete them — our sport has a lot of variables like wind and conditions and stuff like that but everything went to plan.

"I put it all on the line last night and that's kind of my plan, put everything on the line. It's high risk, high reward."

Scott is firmly focused on winning her first Crystal Globe, awarded to the winner of the World Cup events, and is locked in a battle with Canada's Marion Thenaut with two events remaining.

There's no secret to Scott's strategy for the business end of the competition — big flips and twists, and plenty of them.

"It's incredible the field and the degree of difficulty right now. Normally these things are in quad cycles leading up to the Olympics and not many girls have their biggest tricks at the moment.

"This being the year after the Olympics it's really impressive to see the degree of difficulty out there. For me, it's more the personal goal and achieving my hardest jumps and with the hardest jumps you take out the win.

"Most girls usually compete triple twisting doubles and there hasn't really been a push for girls to do triples, we've kind of got away with doing triple twisting doubles.

"Now we're pushing that game and there's a few of us doing triples out there.

"This is a double twisting triple, I still have a triple twisting triple in the bag and I've done a quadruple twisting triple in the pool. It's all how many twists you can do and how many flips."

It was a banner event overall for Australia with Jakara Anthony storming to victory in the women's moguls – her fourth triumph of the season — and Matt Graham taking the honours in the men's.

Graham led from start to finish to secure his first win in two years and then backed up his performance with a silver in the dual moguls event the following day.
