Daniel Thomas remanded in custody ahead of criminal damage trial next year

Daniel Thomas Danny Tommo

Anti-migrant activist Daniel Thomas, known as Danny Tommo, has been remanded in custody following a court hearing at Portsmouth Crown Court .
The 37-year-old has pleaded not guilty to criminal damage after allegedly slashing a boat in the English Channel with an emergency responder on board.
Thomas also denies a second charge of failing to disclose the PIN to his mobile phone to police.
Judge James Newton-Price KC refused a bail application proposed by defence counsel Simon Pentol KC, stating he was setting political motivations aside.
A provisional trial date has been set for March, with the case adjourned until the next court hearing on 12 November.
