In a surprising move, Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo is set to make a return to the Formula One grid. The AlphaTauri team announced on Tuesday that Ricciardo has joined them on loan from Red Bull Racing for the remainder of the 2023 season, effectively taking over Nyck de Vries's seat starting from the Hungarian Grand Prix next week.
Ricciardo previously enjoyed a successful stint with Red Bull Racing from 2014 to 2018, securing seven victories during his tenure. Prior to his time at Red Bull, he had spent two seasons with Toro Rosso, which is now known as AlphaTauri, in 2012 and 2013.
