For Daniel Radcliffe, who began starring in the first film at just 12 years old, it’s safe to say that his time playing the titular character marked many firsts.
During the upcoming HBO Max's reunion special titled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, Radcliffe revealed that he found himself crushing on one of his co-stars, Helena Bonham Carter.
In a new snippet of the special, the now 32-year actor sat down with Carter and read a letter he had written for her upon the culminating filming for the franchise’s final installment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 2011.

At the time, Radcliffe was around 21 and Carter was 45.
The note began, “Dear HBC, it was a pleasure being your co-star and coaster in the fact I always ended up holding your coffee.”
As the two chuckled about the pun, Radcliffe embarrassingly continued after Carter urged him to carry on, "You can share," she said.
“I do love you and I wish I’d just been born ten years earlier so I might’ve been in with a chance. Lots of love and thanks for being cool,” the note concluded.
Carter was notably married to Tim Burton back in 2011 when Radcliffe penned the letter, but you have to admire the cheekiness of shooting his shot anyway!
Although their relationship never turned romantic, Carter and Radcliffe have remained close friends to this day.
