As the New England Patriots continue with NFL draft preparation, there is one name that could help remedy the Patriots’ wide receiver woes. Alabama’s Slade Bolden could be on the Patriots radar.
Bolden tallied 42 receptions for 408 yards and three touchdowns for the Crimson Tide last season. For his Alabama career, he recorded 68 catches for 712 yards and four touchdowns.
New England has historically gotten production out of the slot receiver position. The slot receiver has been an integral part of the Patriots offensive game plan. Julian Edelman 73 catches for 620 yards and 36 touchdowns in his Patriots career. Wes Welker caught 672 passes for 7,459 yards and 37 touchdowns during his time with the Patriots.
Thursday, NFL Media’s Daniel Jeremiah made a bold proclamation about Bolden’s prospects to New England.
Daniel Jeremiah on Slade Bolden: “He is best friends with Mac Jones…If he is not selected by the #Patriots in the seventh round, everyone in Tuscaloosa will be shocked.”

With this wide receiver draft class possessing depth, the Patriots could have a shot at Bolden in the later rounds. He could be the receiving playmaker needed to bolster the Patriots’ offense.
