New Leeds United boss Daniel Farke may have just walked through the door at Elland Road but his preparations for the 2023/23 Championship campaign will have already begun. The German head coach will take charge of pre-season after a long-awaited appointment.
The Whites are looking to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking and will be under the guidance of a two-time promotion winner in Farke. Leeds and their soon to be new hierarchy have a number of important decisions to make - none more important than the future of a number of first-team players.
A large chunk of the first-team squad have been linked with moves away from Elland Road, while Farke must also decide who to build his team around next season. One player with a big question mark over his head, is Wales international Daniel James.
The former Swansea City forward burst onto the scene in the Championship and earned a move to Manchester United, prior to his Elland Road switch. It was during his time at the Liberty Stadium that Farke came across the Welshman and is a huge admirer.

"I’m not surprised by how good James has been," Farke said back in 2019 after the winger had penned terms at Old Trafford side. "I always liked him, but sadly there was no chance for us to get him when Man United called!
"To deliver that quickly on this level says a lot about his character."
James spent last season on loan with Fulham and played a part in a mid-table finish with Marco Silva's side, but has returned to Elland Road this summer. Farke's previous comments suggest the 25-year-old will play a big part for Leeds this season, if he stays at the club.
