Daniel Cormier was told off for bringing Jake Paul into a conversation about Anderson Silva during the UFC 274 broadcast.
Paul has made a remarkable splash in the boxing world having won five professional fights and has confirmed his return to the ring on August 13 with UFC legend Silva among his potential opponents. The Brazilian has also ventured into the ring and will feature on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather's exhibition bout against Don Moore next weekend.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Cormier was on commentary alongside Jon Anik and analyst Joe Rogan for the UFC 274 event headlined by Charles Oliveira's victory over Justin Gaethje on Saturday night. And while calling Ovince Saint Preux's points win over Shogun Rua, Rogan said: "It's kind of amazing when you see guys like him [Shogun Rua] who have been in the game for so long and still have the incredible desire to compete at the highest level." Cormier remarked: "Even Anderson; what Anderson is doing in boxing now, right?
"There's just so much fight left in him that he went and pursued it in a a different sport? And beats Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, former world champion. You notice Jake Paul is not calling out Anderson Silva?" Rogan quickly fired back in an abrupt tone: "None of that, please."
Cormier feuded with Paul on social media before the heavyweight legend confronted the YouTube star in a heated cageside showdown at UFC 261 last year. Cormier even offered to meet Paul in the cage with the YouTube star eyeing a future in MMA and indeed in the UFC.

Silva launched a successful career in the ring by outpointed Cesar Chavez Jr before knocking out Tito Ortiz. Paul has spoken of idolising Silva during his hugely successful spell in the octagon, but has admitted any fight between the pair would require background checks before taking place.
"I think it would be a huge fight so sure, he's a legend of the sport, great head movement, great striking. For me I would love it, I have nothing but respect for Anderson," he told The MMA Hour. "I watched him growing up and was a fan of his. So it would be cool to get in there and see what would happen.
"However, there is the side of it that's like. He's 46 or 47 years old, so I would want him to go through lots of testing to make sure that's he's actually good to get into the ring. I wouldn't want some s*** that just happened with like Vitor and Holyfield. He's like 22 or 23 years older than me. So he's out there looking good against these older guys, you know Tito Ortiz and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr."
