A violent and dangerous prisoner used a weapon crafted from a piece of plastic cutlery to launch a revenge attack on an inmate he accused of being "a snitch". Mccauley Cook, 25, of no fixed address, had lent the man a phone, an item banned in prison, but it was found and the prisoner gave Cook's name to officers.
Cook reacted by using the cutlery, with two parallel razor blades melted into the plastic to create a double cut, making it more difficult to stitch any wound. He took his victim from behind in HMP Lowdham Grange on January 14, 2021, and slashed him in the face and punched hm.
Nottingham Crown Court was told one prison officer, who intervened, was cut from his eye to his jaw, leaving him permanently scarred. Cooke then pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to the prisoner, assault, causing bodily harm to the officer, and having a blade in prison.
