Dancing On Ice winner Olivia Smart has hinted that she will not be returning to the ITV series next year. The 25-year-old British-Spanish ice skater was chatting to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby alongside fellow champion Nile Wilson on This Morning on Monday, March 13.
“You may go back to the Olympics, you’ve got that option. Is this the ultimate mic drop? You come in for one year, you win it and then you go do something else?” Phillip asked and Olivia replied: “I’m guessing so.”
Phillip then added: “This means as much to the pros as it does to our celebs, doesn’t it?” and Nile agreed before Olivia said: “For me, this has been an absolutely new process. Going from competing to doing show-skating is so different.”

Olivia continued: “They deserve so much credit for what they do on these shows. You don’t see the behind-the-scenes things. I’ve had a hard time and I’ve trained for the Olympics but this has been hard. We’ve loved it but it has been hard physically, mentally. I’ve learned a lot from doing this show and I’d love to take what I’ve learnt from this back to competing. I think it can develop me as a competitor and help me grow more in that side of my sport. We’ll see where it goes from there.”
In July 2017, Olivia became a Spanish citizen. She has skated with Spanish skater Adrián Díaz since 2016. The pair managed to reach the Beijing Olympics in 2022.
During the final, Nile became the first male celebrity skater to perform the terrifying "headbanger" - a controversial move where a skater is swung around in a circle by their feet, with their head narrowly missing the ice. The move is banned in professional skating arenas but is allowed in special exhibition performances.
Nile becomes the second Olympic gymnast to life the Dancing On Ice trophy, after Beth Tweddle also won in 2013. For more TV and showbiz stories, subscribe to our newsletter here.
