Dancing On Ice will feature a double elimination next week as contestants battle it out for a place in the final.
Phillip Schofield announced the news towards the end of tonight's show and also said the celebrities will perform twice, once with their partner and then again on their own.
"We've got some big news about the semi-finals. I can reveal that next week there will be a double elimination. Not one, but two couples will be leaving the competition," the 60-year-old said.
Joey Essex was visibly shocked and couldn't stop his mouth from dropping open.
Phil went on to add: "That's the first time they've heard that... Your face! Has it shocked you?"
Joey replied: "Yes!" before Phil said: "I can tell. Our couples really want to steer clear of that double elimination."
Taking to Twitter, fans shared their excitement at the tense announcement.
One viewer wrote: "A double elimination for the Semi Final next week. The pressure is on!!. That means we'll have 3 Finalists."
Another said: "Double elimination next week!! How exciting," while a third fan tweeted: "Double elimination next week. It's tough to pick just 3 of these tbh. They're all super close."
Sunday night's episode saw the six remaining celebrities battle it out on the ice for a place in the semi-finals.
Nile Wilson, Joey Essex, Carley Stenson, Mollie Gallagher, The Vivienne, and Siva Kaneswaran went head to head as they each took on the task of incorporating a selected prop into their dances.
It was sad news for Carley, however, as she was announced as the latest celebrity to be voted off the show.
Siva previously couldn't perform due to an illness and said that he was "gutted" after being forced to pull out.
Darren Harriott was the fifth star to leave Dancing On Ice after a tense skate-off against Siva Kaneswaran last weekend.
A week prior to Darren’s exit, EastEnders star Patsy Palmer was eliminated while Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu was voted off the week before.
Michelle Heaton and John Fashanu were the first stars to leave the current series in weeks two and three.
Dancing On Ice airs Sundays at 6:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
