Dancing On Ice star Sylvain Longchambon was rushed to hospital after an accident on the rink resulted in him splitting his chin.
The professional skater split his chin open after smashing his face during a training session with his partner Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher. According to the ITV show's creative director, Dan Whiston, the celebrities had 'lots of falls' in the lead-up to Sunday's show.
Sylvain, 42, was training for the next week in the competition when the nasty accident happened. TV boss Dan told The Sun: "We’ve had lots of falls this week, with pro-skater Sylvain rushed to hospital after hitting his chin on the ice during rehearsals.
"He had his chin glued and luckily was back on the ice with Mollie Gallagher who put on a solid performance."
The pair went on to impress the judges in Musicals Week and took home a score of 28.5 after an emotional routine to She Used To Be Mine from the production Waitress.
The choreographer continued: "Just when we thought we couldn’t have any more dramas this week, we had a situation where the platform the musical cast stood on had to be screwed into the ice to stop it from sliding around.
"I absolutely loved choreographing such an exciting pro performance alongside our special guests from Tina the musical!"
This isn't the only gruesome accident to take place while the stars are training for their performances on the rink. The Wanted singer Siva Kaneswaran passed out in a grisly accident after cracking his head on the rink during training before Christmas.
Speaking to The Sun, Siva said: "Friday I just passed out. I had a serious fall and I hit the back of my head so I’ve been diagnosed with a mild concussion.
"So it’s been difficult for me to get back on the ice and it can really shake your confidence especially when you’ve just cracked your head on the ice."
He continued: "Luckily we have a medic next to the rink and so we had my blood pressure and blood taken and they checked my eyes, so it’s there, I’m still here, I’m OK, but pretty shook up."
This comes as former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer had a slip on the rink during but was saved from the skate-off at the weekend. Michelle Heaton became the second star eliminated from the ITV show.
