Dancing On Ice Darren Harriott's arm 'sliced open with blade' as he shares grisly injuries

Darren Harriott has opened up about his gruesome injuries on Dancing On Ice - which has resulted in him having to have his forearm glued back together.

The former Aftersun host, 34, is one of the latest celeb contestants to take to the ice as he competes to be crowned the winner of Dancing On Ice 2023.

However, it seems that he hasn't got off the the best start as he has already injured himself quite seriously.

When asked what his biggest fear is, he said he thinks he has already conquered them due to the injuries he's sustained.

He said: "My biggest fear, I don’t really have it anymore, all my fears are now sort of gone, because I’ve fallen on the ice countless times, I’ve got whiplash, yesterday I sliced my arm open with my partners blade, they had to glue my forearm together.

"What other fears are there! Maybe I fall through the ice? That’s all that’s left. Whiplash, there’s a bit of bone sticking out here."

Speaking on Capital XTRA, Darren talked about how the latest Love Island winner Ekin-Su became the first celebrity to be voted to dance in the skate off.

Despite Ekin-Su giving the performance of a lifetime, she was told by the judges that she needs to skate more on her own.

Darren pointed out that the Dancing On Ice audience is "very different audience to the Love Island audience", however he still thinks she's got a good chance off making it through the skate off.

He said: "I think Ekin's got a good chance of making it through because the judges told her what they want. She's gotta skate more, skate a bit more on your own. That's it and she'll be fine yeah, and she's umm, oh she's determined.

"I tell ya.. Ekin-Su I mean, we all feel like we really know Ekin-Su from Love Island and you just know that she's you know she's determined to make an impact on Sunday. Yeah, so be really fun to see."

Despite saying she was "sad" to be appearing in the skate off, Ekin-Su later took to her Twitter to share a positive message.

The reality star picked herself back up, posting a defiant message with her 105k followers. She wrote: "I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their lives. Life seems to be going fast, and we should live it.

"Don’t let anyone bring you down because you’re worth more than that."
