The man at the centre of a murder investigation in Levenshulme has been named by friends as Harrison Marvin.
Mr Marvin suffered fatal injuries after a 'fight' broke out on Rushmere Avenue on Sunday evening (July 9). The 36-year-old was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, police said. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said he remained in police custody this morning (Tuesday).

Friends and colleagues of Mr Marvin have now paid tribute to him, describing him as 'kind and caring' with the 'best smile'. They said he worked as a doorman on bars in the Stockport area, and was affectionately known as 'The Dancing Doorman'.
Shaun, owner at I-Guard security where Mr Marvin worked, said: "Taken far too soon, Harrison was an excellent employee who will be deeply missed by myself, our management and ultimately his colleagues he worked with.
"Harrison was a fantastic person who had a great personality and earned himself the title of 'The Dancing Doorman'.
"I laid flowers outside his house yesterday when we received the news we were all in disbelief and shock. He truly was a large part of the I-Guard family.
"Our sympathies and condolences go out to his family. Truly black and gold forever."
Friend Elleleigh said: "My G Harrison, you are simply the best, I will miss you so so much. I am honestly lost for words.
"You really are going to be missed so much my friend. It's not a goodbye, it's a see you later. All my love."
Friends Danny, Matty, Mike and Jack said: "Harrison where do we all start, you was the best doorman, the best friend and best smile in the room.
"The whole of Hazel Grove will miss you so so much. You was funny, caring and kind.
"'The 'Dancing Doorman' may you rest peacefully, we all love you so much. Love the Bamboo Boys."
Another friend Dion said: "We was like his family, our door company are devastated over losing such a funny and devoted employee. He always made everyone laugh and always had a smile on his face no matter what.
"He's truly going to be missed by his door family and friends."
And Colleague Corrinne added: "The news of Harrison being taken has shocked us all here at I-guard. Harrison always came to work with a smile on his face and ready to entertain the customers with his dance moves. You will always be remembered by us as the 'dancing doorman' rest in peace our i- guard brother. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time."
Following the incident on Sunday, a cordon was put in place on a stretch of Rushmere Avenue. Crime scene investigation tape was placed around a number of terraced houses.
Residents described their 'complete shock' as forensic officers carried out investigations. In a statement issued previously, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 8.50pm on Sunday 9 July 2023, officers were called to reports of a fight between two men on Rushmere Avenue, Levenshulme.
"The victim – a 36-year-old man – was found with serious injuries and sadly pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Enquiries are ongoing at this stage."
