Dance music legends will return to Ayr for the first time in 30 years for a huge TWO day festival.
Ayrshire Live can reveal the full glittering line-up confirmed by organisers.
‘Big fun’ tunes will bounce ‘back to life’ when iconic groups Soul II Soul and Inner City take over the Low Green for a pre-summer throwback.
They’ll be joined by international superstar DJ Roger Sanchez as part of the STREETrave Ayr Beach Festival played under the shadow of the iconic Ayr Pavilion.
It will all take place a day after DJ Ewan McVicar headlines his very own Pavilion Festival, which sold out in just seconds.
The ‘Tell Me Something Good’ star will make a stunning homecoming in front of thousands of fans on Saturday, April 29, with the STREETrave festival taking place 24 hours later on Sunday, April 30.
The heritage clubbing brand STREETrave will return to their ‘spiritual home’ – with the festival marking 30 years since their last event at the Pavilion in 1993.
Headliners that night, Inner City, will return to the Ayrshire stage. Back then the Detroit techno innovators were storming the charts with hits such as ‘Good Life’ and ‘Big Fun’.
Festival organiser Ricky Magowan has told of his excitement to bring them and a glittering line-up back.
He said: “Ayr Pavilion has always been the spiritual home of STREETrave, we have spoken about putting on a festival at the Low Green for years so for it to come to fruition is a dream come true.
“Our last STREETrave party at the Pavilion was Sunday, April 11, 1993 and was headlined by Inner City, so to be able to bring them back nearly 30 years to the day feels like we’ve come full circle.”
Organisers say their festival will bring together artists who have “shaped the musical landscape of dance music".
Headliner Roger Sanchez said: “I’m really excited to be coming back to where it all started for my STREETrave Family.
"We’ll make it a day to remember at the STREETrave Ayr Beach Festival in 2023.”
Kevin Sanderson of Inner City added: "I am excited to back with Inner City 30 years after we last played STREETrave at Ayr Pavillion. This is going to be something special!"
STREETrave Ayr Beach Festival is part of a weekend long event (Live at Ayr Beach).
Day one of the event is the sold out Pavilion Festival, which is hosted and curated by Ayr based DJ/Producer Ewan McVicar.
STREETrave Festival at Ayr Beach run from 12noon - 10.30pm on Sunday, April 30.
