Dan Hooker takes aim at ‘f*cking idiot’ and ‘little rat’ Colby Covington, says UFC hides him in Las Vegas

Dan Hooker had some harsh words toward Colby Covington.

Speaking about Covington alongside UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, Hooker said though many fighters train at the UFC Performance Institute, Covington is forced to train at the UFC Apex whenever he’s in Las Vegas.

“He’s a f*cking idiot,” Hooker told Fox Sports Australia. “They f*cking hide him. Like, the UFC hide the sh*t out of him. They need to. They would slap the sh*t out of him. He can’t even train at the PI, so they like chuck him across the road.

“He comes in at night in the Apex and goes in the back door to the Apex. He’s a little rat, bro. That’s p*ssy sh*t. He doesn’t stay in the host hotel. He actually goes out of his way to just avoid people. It’s the weirdest thing.”

Covington (17-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC) is no stranger to training in a separate place. Prior to leaving his longtime gym, American Top Team, Covington was forced to come in at different timings after causing a rift with numerous teammates.

“Chaos” doesn’t mince his words when it comes to fellow UFC fighters, and it recently cost him. The lead-up to his grudge match with former friend, now foe, Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272 got personal, and it spilled over after he won the fight.

Covington allegedly was attacked by “Gamebred” outside a restaurant in Miami just days after their fight, resulting in Masvidal getting arrested for aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm and criminal mischief.

According to police reports, Covington fractured a tooth and suffered a wrist abrasion. He alleged Masvidal ran up to him from his left and punched him twice in the face outside Papi Steak restaurant. Masvidal’s new pre-trial hearing date is set for Nov. 17, with a tentative trial date of Dec. 5.
