Dan Biggar confused as Vaughan Gething interrupts Wales Six Nations press conference

Wales captain Dan Biggar was left bemused when the voice of Welsh Government economy minister Vaughan Gething interrupted a virtual press conference previewing the Six Nations clash with Scotland.

Biggar, who earns his 100th Test cap when including Lions appearances on Saturday afternoon, was in the midst of detailing how his team are bidding to respond well after their defeat in Dublin when the voice of former health minister Gething interjected.

"If we have a poor performance we tend to respond quite well," Biggar had been saying. "We're under no illusions and we're not papering over any cracks..."

That's when a replay of Mr Gething's Welsh Government Covid press conference overlapped, interrupting Biggar's train of thought. Mr Gething had been leading a press conference announcing changes to Wales' Covid measures in the absence of First Minister Mark Drakeford, who is self-isolating after testing positive for Covid.

"The changes we've made today come on the back of the Welsh Government consulting our advisers, our scientific expert advisers, chief medical officer, the advice we get from Public Health Wales and that advice supports the gradual approach we're outlining today," Mr Gething could be heard saying before the audio issue was resolved.

Biggar quipped: "It wasn't that bad what I was saying, was it?"

All of Wales' Six Nations press conferences are being held online for the tournament and the interruption came from a reporter's computer.

Mr Gething later wrote on Twitter: "Glad Dan Biggar didn’t say anything offensive. Something for me to take on board. Pob lwc."
