Damien Dempsey at Iveagh Gardens: Stage times, tickets, how to get there

Damien Dempsey will be playing two nights in Dublin this week.

The "Apple of My Eye" hitmaker will be taking to the stage in Dublin city centre on Friday and Saturday. The concerts come as the Dubliner released his new single "Hope Calling" last week and fans are hoping to hear some of his newest songs this weekend.

Here is all you need to know about his upcoming gigs on July 7 and 8:

Where and when will Damien Dempsey be playing in Dublin?

Damien will be playing at The Iveagh Gardens in Dublin city centre on Friday, July 7, and Saturday, July 8.

What time do doors open and when will Damien come on stage?

Doors will open at 6.30pm on both days. Starsailor will be playing at 7.45pm on Friday.

Damien is expected to come on stage at 9pm for a two-hour show. The schedule will be the same on Saturday except TAU and Drones of Praise will be opening the show.

Are tickets still available?

There are still some tickets left for both days, however, Ticketmaster warned that there are only a few tickets available for the Saturday show so you might want to snap them up quickly.

How do I get there?

The Iveagh Gardens are located on Clonmel Street, off Harcourt Street in Dublin 2. Most buses serve the city centre but the following buses stop near The Iveagh Gardens: 15, 155, 6, 39, 39A, 46A, and 70.

You can also get the Green Line Luas and get off at St Stephen's Green stop. Pearse Street is the closest DART station and is a 20-minute walk from The Iveagh Gardens.

There is no car parking available at the event but there are a number of parking spaces available around the city centre. The closest is Q-Park at Stephen's Green Shopping Centre.

Please note that the website says there is no wheelchair access through the Concert Hall gate entrance.

What is the setlist?

Fans are hoping he'll play his newest single, "Hope Calling", but he's also expected to play his best-known hits like

Are there any items I'm not allowed to bring with me?

Concertgoers have been asked to only carry bags under A4 size. Bags will be subject to a search.

All under-18 patrons must be accompanied by an adult. The following items have been banned from the venue:

Any item that may be used as a weapon, bottles, cans, flasks, frisbees, illegal substances, scooters, skateboards, flag poles, selfie sticks, flares, laser devices, prams/push chairs, inflatable and folding chairs, large suitcases/rucksacks, laptops, illegal merchandise items, umbrellas, hampers, cold boxes, air horns, alcohol, drinks, food and animals (except service dogs and guide dogs).

Will there be food and drinks available at the venue?

There will be food and drinks available for purchase. However, The Iveagh Gardens is a cashless venue and there is no ATM on site so guests have been asked to bring their bank cards or use their phone to pay using virtual cards.
