The wake and funeral details of the late Tyrone GAA hurler Damian Casey have been released to the public. Damian tragically passed away while attending a friend’s wedding in Spain last week.
The 29-year-old's remains are due to be repatriated to his family home in Dungannon on Thursday, with the wake for the talented hurler to take place on Friday and Saturday. Following that, his funeral will take place on Sunday in St Patrick’s Church Dungannon.
The details of the arrangements have been shared by his local club, Eoghan Ruadh hurling club in the Co Tyrone town. The club has asked for anyone attending the wake to first go to their Donaghmore Road grounds, where they will provide transport to the Casey family home.

“Damian’s remains will be repatriated to his home some time on Thursday night,” the club said in a statement.
“We as a GAA family will allow his immediate family and close friends the time and space they need.
“Damian’s official wake will be Friday and Saturday with funeral mass and burial in Dungannon on Sunday.
“We request that everyone attending the wake come directly to Eoghan Ruadh grounds, 97 Donaghmore Rd, Dungannon for transportation to and from the family home. Funeral is 2pm Sunday at St Patrick’s Dungannon.”
Hundreds of mourners gathered at the grounds of Damian’s home club on Sunday evening in memory of the talented hurler. Damian’s father Sean, mother Susan and sisters Louise and Catherine were visibly shaken at the vigil, and said in a statement read by a family friend that the news of Damien’s death was the ‘worst imaginable’.
