Damar Hamlin is lucky to be alive after going into cardiac arrest during the first quarter of the Bills’ Week 15 matchup against the Bengals.
He announced on Tuesday that doctors have cleared him to return to playing football, which he plans to do for the Bills in 2023. Hamlin also revealed the exact diagnosis of what caused his collapse in the Jan. 2 game.
But, the most powerful message from his press conference came when he talked about his family and how grateful he is to still be alive. It puts everything into perspective:
"The wow moment is everyday being able to wake up. I died on national TV in front of the whole world."
