An alternative fashion chain has opened a brand new store inside Newcastle's Eldon Square.
Damaged Society (DMG SCY) has moved into bigger premises directly opposite its original store on High Friars inside the city's shopping centre.
The retailer opened the doors of its new store for the first time on Wednesday, May 24, with shoppers now able to browse a greater selection of unique brands.

Penny Rayner, director of Damaged Society, said: “We are delighted to be continuing our retail journey in Eldon Square in a bigger space that will accommodate our growing offering as we evolve and provide even more stylish options for our customers. With clothing and accessories from premium fashion brands, as well as band merch and products on offer, our new store will provide something for everyone.”
The new unit was once home to Blue Inc but has remained empty for a number of years after the store closed in 2017. Eldon Square confirmed that Damaged Society's original store will remain open "for the time being" as its stock clearance sale continues.
The chain, which has branches across the UK including Manchester and Cardiff, sells alternative lifestyle, fashion, and streetwear to shoppers, including brands such as Vans and Dr Martens. The store also has a vast selection of band merchandise including Metallica, Guns 'n' Roses and AC/DC.
Bernice Nesham, senior asset manager at Pradera Lateral, which manages Eldon Square, said: "Due to the incredible success of Damaged Society in Eldon Square, we are thrilled to be able to provide a bigger unit for them to continue to establish their brand and offer even more exciting and unique fashion and products. We look forward to being a part of Damaged Society’s retail growth across the UK and seeing what the future brings for them.”
Damaged Society was founded in Derby with the aim to offer customers brands and merchandise they couldn't find anywhere else on the high street. It has now been trading for 10 years and has 13 stores across the UK.
