Dallas Cowboys CB DaRon Bland Ties Wild NFL Record With Yet Another Pick-Six

Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland is on a tear this year.

In Week 11’s win against the Panthers, that tear continued, with Bland bringing in his sixth interception of the season and returning it for a touchdown. It was the fourth pick-six he’s had this year, tying the all-time NFL record with seven games left to play and putting him in position to potentially take the solo record for himself.

Bland’s latest pick came late in the game against Carolina. With the Cowboys already leading 24–10 near the start of the fourth quarter, Bryce Young was looking to jump-start the Panthers’ offense and mount a potential comeback.

Instead, Bland read Young’s eyes and jumped a route, diving for the ball, getting up untouched, and scampering for the end zone.

Bland's fourth pick-six of the year puts him in elite company, joining Eric Allen (1993), Ken Houston (1971) and Jim Kearney (1972).

After the game, Bland said the interception was part of the game plan coming into the day.

“I told my teammates I was going to go out and get one today,” Bland told Fox’s Erin Andrews after the game.

Bland's four touchdowns on the year put him ahead of some of the top wide receivers in the league, including Davante AdamsChristian Kirk, and Michael Pittman Jr.

With one more score, Bland can stand alone in history. He has seven games left to do it.
