Dalkey Lobster Festival set to return this summer

Dalkey Lobster Festival is taking place at the seaside town this summer. The festival is due to take place from Friday August 25 until Sunday August 27.

After a successful run last year, the festival has come back for 2023. The festival said on Instagram on June 12 that Councillor Denis O Callaghan announced the return of the festival at a reception at The Queens in Dalkey.

According to their Instagram around 20,000 people attended last year with it being the first one back since the pandemic. This year is expected to be bigger then ever as the festival celebrates the lobster and sea side food over the weekend.

Lobster Village will be set up in The Tramyard site in Dalkey where there will be stalls with chefs cooking up a storm, preparing the freshest sea food. The festival last year also had a stage for live music, street entertainment as well as stalls to buy trinkets from and this year is expected to be no different.

Dalkey Lobster Festival is family friendly with different activities to spike children's and parents interests alike. Keep an eye on the festivals Instagram dalkylobfest as they announce more details of the weekend in the coming weeks.

The festival is also completely free to attend and requires no pre booking so anyone is welcome to turn up on the day.
