As the Chicago Bulls prepare to balance out their roster this summer, they will have some tough decisions to make. Among them will be whether or not to re-sign Nikola Vucevic, whether or not to trade Zach LaVine and/or DeMar DeRozan, and how much to offer Coby White. However, they have some rotational decisions to make, too.
Dalen Terry is coming off of a rookie season where he didn’t earn much playing time. Chicago’s 2022 first-round pick played well in the G League (in just three games) but didn’t have much of a role at the NBA level. However, according to Keith Smith of Spotrac, he could be ready for a bigger role next season.
Smith wrote an offseason preview for every NBA team, and when the Bulls came up, he discussed Terry’s potential role in Chicago’s rotation next year.
“Dalen Terry’s rookie season was mostly spent watching,” Smith wrote. “He rarely played meaningful NBA minutes. In the G League, Terry flashed the ability that made him a mid-first-round pick. There’s talent there, and Terry should be ready to take on a bigger role.”
Terry only got to play in three G League games for the Windy City Bulls last year, but he looked good in those appearances. The 20-year-old rookie averaged 19.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game on 47.7 percent shooting from the floor and 41.7 percent shooting from behind the three-point line.
If the 6-foot-7 forward could bring even a small piece of that talent to the NBA level, he could be a great contributor for Chicago.
