MANGALURU / UDUPI: The people in the coast, at least most parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, received a temporary reprieve on Monday as the rains let up for most of the day from 6am. There was a brief moment of sunshine too and one or two hours with a long break in between.
The red alert for the coastal districts has turned orange till Friday, indicating the rains are relenting. This prompted the DK district administration to declare that there will be no holiday for anganwadi and schools on Tuesday. “Classes will resume with all precautions. If there are any issues, a decision will be taken locally on prior approval from DDPI / ZP CEO / DC office,” said a statement from the DC’s office.
