The Dallas Cowboys announced that quarterback Dak Prescott will be sidelined for at least one game as he continues to be evaluated for a hamstring injury sustained during the team's recent game against the Atlanta Falcons. Head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that Prescott will not be available for the upcoming matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Reports from anonymous sources suggest that Prescott could miss multiple games, adding to the challenges faced by the struggling Cowboys, who are currently on a three-game losing streak. This setback comes after Prescott missed the latter part of the 2020 season due to an ankle injury.

Prescott himself acknowledged feeling discomfort in his hamstring during the game against Atlanta, prompting his early exit in the fourth quarter. In his absence, backup quarterback Cooper Rush stepped in, having previously filled in for Prescott in 2019.

The Cowboys, currently trailing in the NFC East division, will rely on Rush to lead the team in Prescott's absence. Trey Lance, acquired from the San Francisco 49ers, will serve as Rush's backup.

Prescott's injury adds to the challenges faced by the Cowboys, who have struggled to find consistency this season. The team's performance will be closely watched as they aim to overcome this latest setback and remain competitive in the division.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Prescott's return timeline, the Cowboys are determined to navigate this challenging period and maintain their playoff aspirations. The upcoming games will be crucial in determining the team's fate as they strive to overcome adversity and secure victories in Prescott's absence.
