Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Patriots running back Ezekiel Elliott are now separated by 1,777 miles, after the latter inked a one-year deal with New England on Aug. 14.
However, Dallas's quarterback sent a message with his wardrobe choice before the Cowboys' preseason game against the Raiders Saturday evening: his former teammate isn't far from his thoughts.
Prescott pulled up to AT&T Stadium donning Elliott's No. 15 jersey from his college days at Ohio State, where Elliott played from 2013-15. Elliott previously announced plans to return to his No. 15—still a steady presence in closets across Ohio—for the 2023 season.

Dallas's longtime quarterback played at Mississippi State around the same time, from 2012-15. Oddly, the two players finished eighth in the Heisman voting in successive years: Prescott in 2014, Elliott in 2015.
In 2016, the Cowboys drafted Elliott fourth and Prescott 135th overall. With the duo, they made the playoffs in 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2022.
