Dak Prescott has eyes on a new contract and has much in common with Jalen Hurts, so it’s no shock that the Cowboys star quarterback was happy to see the Eagles star get paid.
Hurts is the highest paid on average per season ($51M) after agreeing to a five-year, $255 million contract extension on Monday.
The NFC East rivals have only faced off once in an NFL game, but the Cowboys leader had high praise for Philadelphia’s All-Pro, telling Adam Schefter that he’s “proud of Hurts.”
Dak Prescott on Jalen Hurts’ new contract: “Congratulations. I’m proud of him. … I’m a fan of the way he plays the game. I’m not a fan of his team and when they have success necessarily, but I’m a fan of Jalen. … He deserves every bit of (the new contract).”

Prescott has established himself as one of the NFL’s top signal-callers, and he is heading into the third year of a four-year, $160 million contract he signed in 2021, with a $59 million cap hit looming for the final year in 2024.
He’ll undoubtedly get a new deal, and Prescott could catapult past Hurts depending on what happens with Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, and Joe Burrow.
