Dak Prescott blamed his ankle injury on his new Jordan Brand cleats and it’s so incredibly relatable

Dak Prescott is going through every sneakerhead’s pain right now and I totally get it.

Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys have some lofty expectations to live up to, as always. Their preseason showing wasn’t too stellar and the injury bug has already bitten them with Tyron Smith and Sean Lee missing time.

But now they seem to have a new problem ahead of the season opener. And that problem is…Dak Prescott’s cleats. His Jordan Brand cleats, specifically.

He’s apparently having some issues with his ankle — the same one that was surgically repaired a few seasons ago.

Why? It’s the cleats. It’s got to be the cleats.

Prescott tried out a pair of Jordan 11 cleats in practice last week and, apparently, they irritated his ankle, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

“He is fine, according to him…Here’s the situation Dak rolled out for reporter’s yesterday. Generally, he plays, he practices in Jordan 1s. Last year, he played in 11s. Yesterday, he tried some 11s during practice. They were too tight on his surgically repaired ankle. It did not go well. It is the cleat’s fault.  He’s going back to 1s.”

Man. Any sneakerhead can totally get this. Jordan 11s aren’t uncomfortable, but they aren’t exactly comfortable either. And it takes a minute to break them in.

Jordan 1s? That’s one of the most comfortable shoes you can find out there. Having it as a cleat is probably amazing. It’s no wonder Dak copped 1s for the entire Cowboys’ sideline.

Hopefully, at some point, Prescott can break those 11s in finally and have them comfy enough to wear. Until then? Stick to the 1s, buddy. You can’t go wrong.
