Daisy May Cooper was inspired 'by Mumsnet' to get divorce after growing 'tired' of hubby

This Country star Daisy May Cooper is a cultural icon after the incredible success of the budget mockumentary, which pokes fun at the lives of young people in modern, rural Britain.

But off the screen, it seems Daisy's life has been as interesting as her comedy show, as she announced after lockdown that she was divorcing her husband, Will Weston, after growing "tired" of him.

Daisy, 36, had two children with gardener Will, but despite the family ties the pair decided to part ways in 2021 - and a source insisted it was "for good."

Since then, the writer and actor has gone from strength to strength and her career is booming, as she's been linked to some big celebrity names.

Daisy previously shared how she started considering divorce after reading a post on parenting forum Mumsnet, about a woman in her seventies who felt "trapped" in her marriage.

Shen then met a friend who made her feel "understood", and Daisy said she then realised what love was, and that life was "too short" to not be happy, as the Daily Mail reports.

An unnamed source spoke to The Sun, and said: "Daisy said she had grown increasingly tired of married life and was struggling in her relationship with Will.

"They ended things for good.

"She has taken off her wedding ring and has been telling her friends their marriage is over."

They added that Daisy had also removed Will as a director of her media business, adding: "It's been a tough 17 months for everyone and Daisy and Will were no exception."

They went on to say Daisy is "trying to move on with the support of her family and friends" and is "putting a brave face on the split".

The pair were married in The Cotswolds in September 2019 and together they have two children, to whom they're "both devoted parents".

Will is a landscape gardener who runs his own company called The Garden Plant Company, which specialises in advising on horticulture and supplying plants, trees, shrubs, and more.

He was Daisy's long-term partner and the pair lived together in Fairford, Gloucestershire, with their young family, which consists of two children – a son named Jack who was born in 2020, and a daughter named Pip was born before 2019.

After Jack was born, Daisy took to social media to gush over him, writing: "The bubba has landed and he's absolutely perfect."

Since their split, Daisy has gone from strength to strength and she's been linked to one of the largest movie franchises of all time - James Bond.

Rumours say she's set to play James Bond's spy boss M in the next 007 movie, and production bosses are said to be hoping Daisy will allow the franchise to become "a bit lighter and more comedic".

If the actor takes on the part, she will follow in the footsteps of stars including Dame Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes.

An insider has said the talks came about due to her friendship with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who joined the production as a script consultant.

"Daisy is a close pal of Phoebe, whose involvement in Bond was such a success that it sparked an unlikely conversation. Suddenly the production team were getting excited about the prospect of really taking M in a different direction," the source told The Sun.

The insider also said bosses are keen to to take the James Bond franchise in a new direction following Daniel Craig's decision to leave after the release of No Time To Die in 2021.
