Dads and father figures can watch a film for free this weekend to celebrate Father's Day - but only if they're joined by the rest of the family. Showcase Cinemas says the offer will allow families to spend some quality time together.
The deal will see the price of a ticket for a family of four ticket reduced by 25% - so dads won't have to pay for their seat. Families taking advantage of the special offer on Sunday (June 18) will be able to watch all the brand new releases including superhero sequel Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, The Flash and action-packed Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts.
Jon Dixon, sales & marketing director at Showcase Cinemas, said: “We’re excited to announce that this Father’s Day, we’re reducing the price of a family of 4 ticket by 25%, so father figures can visit us for free. Going to the cinema has always been a much-loved family pastime, so we wanted to celebrate all father figures nationwide on this special day by offering them a complimentary cinema experience.
"We can’t wait to welcome families to our cinemas this Father’s Day, so they can relax and enjoy the latest releases on the big screen."
Showcase Cinemas says a survey conducted for Father’s Day found that The Great Escape is officially ‘dad’s favourite film’ (15%). This was followed closely by western The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (13%) and Francis Ford Coppola’s epic crime thriller The Godfather (10%).
To take advantage of the Father's Day offer, guests need to do is purchase a family ticket for four people either online or at the box office from their local Showcase Cinema. The family ticket is discounted by 25% for film screenings on Sunday, meaning dads can visit free of charge.
