A dad watched on helplessly as his son was 'flipped in the air' and died after being hit by an Audi. Sheep farmer Alec Heyworth, from Cheshire, had been trying to cross an A-road to open a field gate.
He had been in the passenger seat of a Ford Ranger being driven by his dad Paul Heyworth on the A523. Paul pulled over in Rushton Spencer, Staffordshire, so the pair could transfer some lambs into a field from a trailer they had been towing.
Alec walked around the front of the Ford before stepping into the road, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports. But the 23-year-old was hit by an Audi A3 that had been overtaking on the 60mph stretch - catapulting Alec into the air before he landed on his head.
