Dad stunned after seven year-old son served lottery scratchcard at Asda

A dad has blasted Asda after claiming his son was allowed to buy a £2 scratchcard - despite being nine years below the legal age limit.

James Fletcher-Retallick said he was "shocked" seven-year-old Ronnie was able to make the purchase with his pocket money. The minimum age to buy National Lottery scratchcards in the UK is 18.

Single dad James, 47, said Ronnie was with him during a trip to the store in Folkestone, Kent in August. The youngster went up to the cigarette counter, where it's claimed a male worker first offered him sweets - before allowing him to buy a scratchcard.
