But one dad has come up with an ingenious hack which will get the tot to walk right behind you and the best bit is it won't cost you much at all.
All it takes is one simple and easy-to-use product that will keep your kids following behind you. The parents shared a clip to Instagram from a recent day out to the zoo. In the clip, their tot is walking right behind her dad at the zoo thanks to him holding something for his daughter to follow.
An electronic bubble wand is tucked into the back of his shorts and blowing bubbles for the little girl to chase as they walked.
Mum Kimmy Houghton took to Instagram to share the clip of her daughter following the dad and wrote over the clip: "When you spend 15 minutes dragging your crying toddler through the zoo, only to realise you could have been doing THIS all along."
His simple trick was well-liked by those commenting who flocked to share their appreciation of the solution to a very common problem.
