Dad plunges to his death trying to save Apple Airpods after dropping them from window

A dad plunged to his death while trying to save a pair of Apple AirPods he had dropped outside his window.

The 26-year-old construction worker was found with catastrophic head injuries at 1am on Tuesday in San Wan, Hong Kong.

Horrified passers-by called emergency services after his body was found slumped in the road.

Paramedics found the married man in a coma and he was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.

But he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving on the ward.

It is thought the man was playing video games on a pad he shared with his brother when he dropped the device onto a canopy outside his apartment window.

In a desperate attempt to fetch his wireless earphones, it is believed that the man walked out onto the metal platform and accidentally stumbled.

Horrified onlookers are pictured standing on the street and pointing up at the building.

The crowds initially thought the man was trying to take his own life by jumping, it is understood.

But after reassuring them that he was not jumping from the fifth floor, he accidentally fell in a cruel twist of fate, it is alleged.
